With the takeover of PD Cable-Systems and the relocation of production to the Oschatz site, we have expanded our product portfolio to include fabric tape lines as of April 1, 2021.

Power supply, control and data cables as well as pneumatic and hydraulic hose cables are assembled into fabric tapes. These fabric tapes are used, for example, in the following applications: Power track chains in the machine building industry, high flexible fabric tapes for tool sensors, high temperature- and vibrationless tape lines in automotive sector or as flexible flat and spiral cable in the stage and entertainment technic

Recent projects of PD Cable-Systems can be found at well-known manufactures in automotive and aviation sector as well as in military applications.

After the investment decision of EUR 2 million at the end of September 2020 for installation in a 4th production plant for the manufacture of textile glass mats, the installation of the new mat line IV is now in full progress. Already in the 4th week of January 2021 the plant will be ready for operation. This is an absolute record, but also urgently necessary, as the plant is already fully booked from February.

With a production capacity of 2,500 t/a, our mat line III is running at full capacity. Thanks to extensive sampling, we have been able to win orders from existing customers in the headliner sector and from new customers in the caravan, e-mobility and exterior parts sectors. Accordingly, the way was clear for an even more efficient plant with a further capacity of over 3,500 t.

The new mat line IV is suitable for the production of textile glass mats with grammages of 30 - 600 g/m² and has an effective working width of max. 1.60m.  By using thermal oil instead of electricity as energy source, operation in even higher temperature ranges with significantly improved energy balance is possible. This benefits the production of prepregs and honeycomb products, among others.

By investing in the expansion of our portfolio, we have created a further mile stone for the future, the economic success of the site and for securing jobs in our region.

Newsletter Vol. 1

Dear Customer,
Dear Friends,

The current global corona pandemic has a significant impact on our personal daily life and on our business.
While parts of the global industry such as automotive came to a complete stand still and some regions have been hit harder than others. P-D Glasseiden GmbH Oschatz up to this date has been in the fortunate position to remain fully operational with all its departments as well as all of its oversea subsidiaries.

For Oschatz in Germany we have experienced a drop in orders of automotive customers, which mainly effected the chopped strand mat production on one of our three production lines.

Luckily our weaving as well as our textiles department for combined products and multiaxials have not experienced a major reduction in orders.

Our Russian facility PD Tatneft in Alabuga has remained fully operational and is continuously serving the Oschatz facility with glass fibres.

The Indian facility Arvind PD Composites in Ahmedabad was closed for two weeks and is operational ever since. Here we are even facing significantly increased demand and orders from customers all over the globe.

As the General Meeting Event of our Industry – JEC in Paris – did not take place this year, we would like to take the opportunity with this newsletter to give you an update on the latest news and developments of our company and its subsidiaries and their products.
