Tank and piping construction
When manufacturing tanks or piping systems, fibreglass is sprayed or reeled in various processes in order to obtain properties such as permanent leak tightness, a high resistance to corrosion and a low weight.
When reinforcing piping, glass fibres are continuously rolled up at an angle of around 90° to the pipe axis and undirected short glass fibres are fed in. This combination of fibre reinforcements which are aligned in different directions means the stability of the pipes in a circumferential and axial direction can be tailored to the respective requirements.
