Data protection statement

The responsible use of personal data enjoys high priority at the Preiss-Daimler Group (P-D). We want you to know, when we capture what data and how we use them.

We have taken technical and organizational measures to ensure that the data protection regulations are observed, not only by us but also by our external service providers.

In the course of further developing our Websites and of implementing new technologies it may be possible that this data protection statement needs to be modified. We therefore recommend that you occasionally re-read this data protection statement.

Each time you access P-D’s Internet offer, a log file will store the following data for a limited period of time.

Date and time of the day, when the Website is accessed as well as details of the inquiry and the target address

Name of the file accessed, data volume transmitted and message whether the request was successful

These data will be assessed for statistical and security purposes as well as for optimizing our Internet presence. The data assessed are anonymized and will not be used for the purpose of profiling.

Notwithstanding the above, we reserve the right to assess your IP address should P-D’s Internet infrastructure be attacked.

Use of cookies and analysis tools
P-D’s Websites use so-called cookies, i.e. small text files stored on your computer. We need them to distribute the server loads and to increase the security of our applications. These cookies will only remain valid until the end of the session concerned. You can prevent the use of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly, although this may have the effect that you cannot use the complete scope of our Internet presence.

In addition to that, P-D also uses "Google Analytics" on its Websites, a Website analysis service that helps optimizing the Websites and also evaluates the accesses of Website visitors anonymously through cookies. The information generated by the cookies about your using this Website is neither person-related and used for profiling nor will it be passed on to third parties. The analysis helps exclusively optimizing our offers.

If you use a browser extension that blocks the Website contents and tracking services, i.e. a so-called ad blocker or tracking blocker, such as AdBlock Plus, uBlock Origin or something like that, or if you use a privacy setting of your browser that prevents the installation of our cookies, we will certainly respect all this and not make any attempts to conceal the use of Google Analytics on our Website or to obstruct the functioning of your program in any other way. In such case, we shall not place cookies and the use of this Website will not be traced. However, it may well be possible that – due to your setting – further fields with references to the use cookies are not shown to you at all or incorrectly. If you do not use ad or tracking blockers or if you have not enabled no-cookie settings, and you still disagree with the storage and the anonymous evaluation of your data generated during the visit of our Website, you can object to the storage and the use of your data at any time. If you object to the processing of your data by clicking on:, a so-called opt-out cookie will be installed on your browser, so that Google Analytics does not collect any data from your session. Should you delete your cookies in your Internet browser, the opt-out cookie will, of course, also be deleted, so that it will have to be re-activated when you visit our Website again.

E-Mailing, orders and other contacts
When ordering information material, brochures or products, you will be asked for your name and other personal details. It is completely up to you, whether your wish to disclose and forward these data. When placing an order, the personal data you transmit will only be used for executing the order, which includes the transmission of these data to distribution companies that are commissioned by P-D. The relevant data will be stored on particularly protected servers in Germany which can only be accessed by a few authorized persons who are responsible for the technical and administrative functioning of these servers.

Any other inquiries you submit to P-D will be kept on a hard copy or electronically in accordance with the retention periods for the storage of written records as laid down in P-D’s registry directive. Your data will exclusively be used for the direct correspondence with you.
Passing on personal data to third parties
Data logged while accessing P-D’s Internet presentation will only be transmitted to third parties, if we need to do so by law or by a court order, or if this is necessary for the purposes of legal action or criminal prosecution in the event of our Internet infrastructure being attacked.

If information material, brochures or products are ordered, we shall use the personal details entered and transmitted by you within P-D only and within the companies commissioned to execute your orders.

Apart from that, your data will not be passed on to third parties, neither for commercial nor for non-commercial purposes, without having obtained explicit approval.

Protection of minors
Persons under the age of 18 should not transmit any personal data to us without the approval of their parents or legal guardians. We do not demand any personal data from children or youth. Neither do we knowingly collect such data nor do we pass them on to third parties.

Data protection statement for the social media
P-D takes the current discussions about data protection in social networks very seriously. It has not finally been clarified, whether, and to what extent, all networks offer their services in accordance with the provisions of the European data protection law.

We would therefore like to point out that the services used by P-D, i.e. Twitter, Facebook, Xing, Google+ and YouTube, store their users’ data (e.g. personal information, IP address) in accordance with their guidelines for data processing and use them for business purposes only.

P-D has no influence on the data collection and their further processing by the social networks. We therefore have no knowledge as to at what place, to what extent and how long the data are stored, whether the networks comply with their duty to delete the data, in what way the data are processed and linked and to whom they are passed on.

Our Online presence contains links to the Websites of other providers. We have no influence whatsoever that these providers comply with the data protection provisions.
